The Barbarian Loggia is located inside the Palace of the Captain or the Court (or still, of Cansignorio), Della Scala siege already from the XIIIth century and rebuilt by Cansignorio in the second half of the XIVth century; the building (born, in reality, on a complex of buildings of different ages and with various usage, some traces ca be still seen) was renovated at the end of the XIXth century in order to receive the lawcourts. The palace introduces a solid tower, a beautiful portal by Michele Sanmicheli, a central courtyard of the XVth century, closed and limited from the loggia and the porch; worth to remember also the door of the Bombers, dating back to the XVIIth cen.
