
It was created at the end of the 15th century by Agostino Giusti, a knight of the Venetian Republic and squire of the Grand Duke of Tuscany. The gardens were designed as a backdrop to the Giusti Palace and are terraced in order to gradually uncover the view of the city. It has been remodelled in early 19th century in English countryside garden style. After being destroyed during the second World War, parts of the garden have been restored.
