The exibition is part of the general didactic program of the Ma - Museo africano, finalised at fostering a positive encounter with Africa by initiatives of deeper knowledge of the continent, of education to welcome ethnic diversity and inter-cultural dialogue. The display illustrates the artistic richness of Africa by describing the major areas where the ancient roots of African art are found. A richness which expressed itself not only in the creation of the most original art works but also - at the beginning of the past century - as the source of inspiration in the artistic evolution of great figures like Pablo Picasso and Amedeo Modigliani.
