
Sir John Eliot Gardiner will direct the Concert of New Year's eve at Fenice Theater, this year it's the seventh edition, soloist the soprano Anna Caterina Antonacci, back with Gardiner from a triumphal and refined Carmen at the Opéra-Comique in Paris.
John Eliot Gardiner is one of the most versatile directors of his time. Recognized as it shows up key in the revival of the ancient music, he is founder and artistic manager of Monteverdi Choir, of the English Baroque Soloists and of the orchestra Révolutionnaire et Romantique. Close to the activity with these groups, he performs regularly as director with the most important European symphonic orchestras, suche as: the Wieners and Berliner Philharmoniker and the London Symphony Orchestra, and on the principal opera stages, like the Royal Opera House and La Scala Theater in Milan.
